E’town man indicted for smuggling drugs into Franklin County jail

An Elizabethtown man serving time in Franklin County Regional Jail has been indicted for allegedly smuggling marijuana and Xanax into the jail.

Deketric Stephenson, 23, was found with the drugs, a cell phone and about $40 March 29 after jail officials searched his cell, Commonwealth’s Attorney Larry Cleveland said.

Stephenson apparently smuggled the contraband into jail while on work release with other inmates on a road crew, Cleveland said.
