The News-Enterprise is reformatting its feature presentations by adding new daily pages beginning Monday, Sept. 19.
Locally produced content previously presented in the Wednesday's Woman and Pulse magazines will appear on special interest A-section pages. In addition, a new feature package has been developed to enhance our Monday edition.
The detailed spotlight on a local resident's life and achievements that's been the popular centerpiece of Wednesday's Woman will continue each week and be mimicked on the new Monday's Man page.
At the urging of readers, the newspaper is launching Monday's Man. It will include a centerpiece profile, familar features such as The Art of Performance and Click and Clack Talk Cars and introduce new columnists.
In addition to the profile centerpiece, the Wednesday's Woman page will offer reader favorites such as Jaime Thomas' Motherhood & More column and inspiring thoughts from Speakers with Spark.
The other new daily pages will carry elements previously introduced in Pulse magazine such as food columns on the Taste page each Tuesday. Local writers Mary Alice Holt and Nora Sweat shift to the new page, which also will carry Food Network recipe features. Coincidentally, it will be published on the same day that the monthly food-focused Relish magazine is carried.
The arts and entertainment components of our coverage will appear each Thursday and Friday on a page labeled as Pulse. It will include coverage of local performances, festivals and entertainment venues, including the extensive local calendar of activities, that previously comprised the local aspects of Pulse magazine.
Because television viewers enjoy on-screen program schedules for literally hundreds of stations offered by their cable or satellite providers, the value of a local TV listings book have diminished. Prime-time TV listings will continue in the daily paper and we solicit your input on stations to add to the grids. Also a new link on www.thenewsenterprise.com will provide electronic access to free personalized TV listings for the next 14 days.
These feature pages join other popular daily elements such as Neighbors, Opinion and Sports plus thed Faces & Places photo page each Sunday and recurring pages focused on Senior Life, Schools, Worship, Money and Homes. We believe these efforts and our local news concentation provide The News-Enterprise readers with the most comprehensive package of community information available to Hardin and surrounding counties.
