A 36-year-old man who worked briefly as a Hardin County Schools teacher has been arrested for solicitation of a minor.

Chad Meadows of Flaherty was arrested June 6 and charged with unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited activities.

Meadows, who taught at Vine Grove Elementary School, allegedly propositioned a 13-year-old female to engage in a sexual activity during a Facebook chat.

Meadows’ employment contract at Vine Grove Elementary was not renewed in April, said John Wright, community relations director for Hardin County Schools. The non-renewal was because of unrelated issues, Wright said. His contract technically runs through June 30, though he no longer has contact with students because school is not in session.

Meadows began working at Vine Grove Elementary in November.

Trooper Bruce Reeves, public information officer for Kentucky State Police Post 4, said the female victim notified her parents of the advances and her parents contacted KSP.

It doesn’t appear that any of Meadows’ students are involved.

Meadows is lodged in the Meade County Detention Center.
