Elizabethtown Woman’s Club goes Red

The Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown met on Feb. 4 at the Brown Pusey House with President Martha Mengel presiding. Members wore red in support of the American Heart Association and their National Go Red for Women Day to help support cancer patients. Diane Willis introduced the speaker, Dale Mings of Hardin County Educational Television. Mings told of the ever evolving technology in the classrooms and the programs presented by HCEC-TV. He also touched on the Junior Diversity Council that he works with on issues of diversity in schools.


Nora Sweat gave the report on the Christmas tea and the recommendations made by the Tea committee. The club cleared more than $1,500 to help with chapter projects and appropriations to be made to local charities. Moritza Johnson reported on the Spaghetti Dinner.

The nominating committee of Nora Sweat, Diane Willis, and Moritza Johnson was approved. Diane Willis was elected as chairman of the nominating committee.

The next club meeting will be March 4.
