Saturday’s Black History Month event will not only look to the past but to the future.
First Baptist Church in Elizabethtown is hosting a Black History Month celebration and dinner from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Vaughn Reno Starks Community Center. This is the fourth year for the event, which highlights achievements within the black community as well as future goals, said Brenda Jordan, coordinator of the event.
Those who attend are encouraged to make a $6 donation, which will go to the church’s youth and music programs, Jordan said.
