Monroes held on fraudulent credit card, theft charges

An Elizabethtown husband and wife, indicted last month on numerous charges, were arrested Thursday night.

Richard Alan Monroe, 40, was indicted on two counts of theft by unlawful taking more than $500 but less than $10,000; two counts theft by unlawful taking, firearm; fraudulent use of a credit card more than $500 but less than $10,000; first-degree criminal mischief; theft by unlawful taking less than $500; fraudulent use of a credit card less than $500; two counts of third-degree criminal mischief.

Stephanie Marie Monroe, 36, is charged with two counts of theft by unlawful taking more than $500 but less than $10,000; two counts theft by unlawful taking, firearm; fraudulent use of a credit card more than $500 but less than $10,000; first-degree criminal mischief; theft by unlawful taking less than $500; fraudulent use of a credit card less than $500; two counts of third-degree criminal mischief.

As of Saturday afternoon, both remained at the Hardin County Detention Center on $10,000 full cash bonds.
