An Elizabethtown man will appear in Hardin District Court early next month on charges of sodomy and assault.

According to an arrest citation, police arrived at an Elizabethtown home and found Troy Grimes, 39, naked with his legs around a woman’s head trying to force her to perform oral sex.

Police were called to the home in reference to the “subject who was possibly in a suicidal state and under the influence of an unknown drug,” according to the citation.

Officers said a Taser was deployed before Grimes released the woman, according to the report. Police also said Grimes injured the woman’s face by biting her.

Grimes was arrested Monday and charged with first-degree sodomy (domestic violence with serious physical injury), second-degree assault (domestic violence) and resisting arrest.

He is in the Hardin County Detention Center on a $50,000 full cash bond. If found guilty, Grimes faces 20 years to life in prison on the Class A felony of sodomy. He also was charged with resisting arrest.

The woman, who was relative, was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital where she was treated for her injuries.

Grimes also was taken to HMH for a 24-hour observation, according to an Elizabethtown Police Department news release.

Grimes is scheduled to appear in Hardin District Court at 9 a.m. Feb. 7.
