Snappy Tomato Pizza in Elizabethtown is adding games and attractions as a test for the corporation to see if Snappy Fun Zones should be added in other locations.

The facility is planned to open on or before June 1 at its store on Dolphin Drive.

It will include games, miniature golf, space for parties and a counter at which customers can redeem tickets for prizes.

Co-owner Steve McCann said most activities are meant to appeal to children ages 8 and younger, but there also are games for older children and adults.

“We think we can offer the community a really entertaining time to come out to eat some really good pizza and play some really fun games,” he said.

The restaurant’s existing dining area at 3046 Dolphin Drive is being remodeled to become a game area, and additional space has been leased next-door for a new dining area, space for parties, additional games and a prize redemption center. The business will occupy more than 5,500 square feet when remodeling is complete.

The restaurant remains open. McCann hopes customers excuse the construction mess and said owners hope to open the fun zone as soon as possible.

The reserved party areas will primarily be used for birthday parties, which includes an appearance of the Snappy Tomato Pizza character. The restaurant also is seeking an agreement with E’town Swim & Fitness to include pool access in its party package, McCann said.

McCann expects the changes to positively impact the area’s economy because it means adding between 10 and 15 new jobs and adding to the tax base.

McCann said the store’s family oriented atmosphere and dedication to enhancing customers’ experience make adding it the right choice for Elizabethtown.

“I’m really looking forward to it,” he said.
