Excavation planned for EIS athletic facility

Excavation for an athletic complex on the campus of Elizabethtown High School is expected to begin late this month.

Members of the Elizabethtown Independent Schools board approved a bid Wednesday related to excavation of the area where the complex is meant to be built and smaller related bids.

Board members accepted the low bid of $252,394 from Bischoff Brothers Excavating in Bardstown.

Officials hope work on the site will begin Oct. 22.
