Kentucky State Police responded just before 7 p.m. Wednesday to a double shooting in Meade County.

Meade County Dispatch notified KSP of a fight in progress with shots fired at 7160 Battletown Road in Meade County. Prior to trooper’s arrival Post 4 was notified that two men had been shot.

Police said their preliminary investigation reveals 64-year-old John L. Kenley and 50-year-old James R. Kenley were involved in a heated family dispute which led to them shooting one another. Both suspects were shot multiple times and transported to University Hospital in Louisville.

The investigation is ongoing by Detective Aaron Gabhart. This case will be presented to the Meade County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office once the investigation is complete.
