A response to a domestic dispute Tuesday ended in the arrest of three people in Elizabethtown on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine.
Darren A Dennison, 18, of Elizabethtown; his father, Shawn Dennison, 38, of Custer; and Darren Dennison’s girlfriend, Selena E. Ratliff, 18, of Elizabethtown, all were arrested and charged with manufacturing meth.
Elizabethtown Police Department responded to a domestic dispute at the home of Darren Dennison. Darren and Shawn Dennison fighting over Ratliff, police said. Both were using methamphetamine, according to arrest citations.
As police intervened, officers saw drug paraphernalia and received consent from the apartment owners to search the premises, said Detective Rob Green with Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force, one of the arresting officers.
Officers found a bag of meth, two sets of digital scales, burnt aluminum foil, marijuana pipes, a used glass meth pipe and many straws and baggies, according to the citations.
They also found a cooler with solvent acid, pseudoephedrine tablets and tubing, Green said.
“All the things associated with manufacturing were pretty much there,” he said.
Darren Dennison has been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, first offense, a Class B felony. He also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance, first offense, one gram of meth.
Shawn Dennison was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, second offense, a Class A felony. He also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance, first offense, approximately one gram of meth.
Each man also was charged with mutual domestic assault.
Ratliff was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, first offense, a Class B felony, and possession of a controlled substance, first offense.
If found guilty, a Class A felony is punishable of 20 to 50 years in prison, while a Class B felony conviction is 10 to 20 years in prison.
