Based on forecast information, a flood watch was issued for much of Kentucky and parts of four neighboring states Wednesday and stretched into the early morning hours Friday.
Gulf moisture pushed into the region by southern winds collided with a warm front and resulted in heavy rainfall.
Here's how Hardin County's precipitation compared to neighboring counties, according to Kentucky Mesonet data reported from area monitoring stations: LaRue, 0.76 inches; Meade, 0.24; Grayson, 1.75; Hart, 0.53; Breckinridge, 1.47; and Bullitt, 1.62.
