Floor traps caused gas buildup in employment office

The News-Enterprise — Water that had dried in floor traps in the Elizabethtown Office of Employment and Training building on North Mulberry Street caused a gas buildup problem Wednesday.
Bob Hicks of Hicks Enterprise said when water in the traps evaporates, sewer gases back up into the traps.
“It didn’t really take that long to fix,’’ he said.
Sherrard’s Plumbing and Heating looked into the problem.
Hicks said water and bleach were poured into the traps. The water seals off the gas, he said.
