ISSUE: Flu season approaches
OUR VIEW: Get your shot early
The Centers for Disease Control reports more than 200,000 people in the United States are hospitalized each year because of the flu. Sadly, the agency also reports 23,000 die annually from influenza complications.
Unlike autumn, the flu season has no set starting or ending date. For most Kentuckians, it can arrive as early as October and run as late as May.
