Jake Wilson’s Hail Mary wasn’t answered.
With 5 seconds remaining against Louisville Butler in the second round of the Class 6-A playoffs, the Meade County senior quarterback rolled to his left before lofting a pass to junior Zeb Wilson in the end zone.
But it bounced off Zeb Wilson’s hands and hit the turf, giving the Bears a 24-21 win in a wild, back-and-forth tilt at Hamilton Field.
Butler took its three-point lead with 2:42 remaining when junior Aaron Miles hit a 22-yard field goal.
