Because of Thursday’s inclement weather forecast, the Fort Knox Celebrates Freedom event and fireworks show has been canceled. A scaled down July 4 celebration now will take place at the new Sadowski Center on post from 4 to 8 p.m.

The new event, dubbed the Sadowski Freedom Party, will feature free skating, games, contests, a cash bar and live performances by '70s, '80s and '90s rock and roll cover band MidnightRadio. Free hot dogs, hamburgers, barbecue sandwiches, chips and soft drinks will be available while supplies last.

All activities are free and open to the public. The Sadowski Center is on Wilson Road. Off-post visitors should enter the post through the Wilson Road gate.

Overflow parking will be available in the Ireland Army Community Hospital parking lot on Wilson Road. A free shuttle service will be provided from overflow parking to the event.
