Fort Knox MOWW receives awards

-A A +A

The Fort Knox Chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars annually competes for several awards and recognitions at the national level. The winners are recognized at the MOWW National Convention with the Fort Knox Chapter receiving high praise for all of the patriotic and veteran oriented events and youth education programs conducted over the previous chapter year.

As a result, Fort Knox was named the best chapter in the small class category for the seventh consecutive year. The chapter also was named best in the Information, Publicity and Public Relations Award.

Of special note was the award of a MOWW National Citation to Retired Lt. Col. Richard Ardisson, treasurer of the chapter. He received the award for “his continuously exceptional performance throughout his membership in the Fort Knox Chapter. Of note, in addition to his exceptional tenure as former chapter commander, he has maintained meticulous accountability of chapter funds over a multi-year period as the chapter treasurer. This, and his continuous personal support of the chapter’s numerous functions and activities, have brought high praise to the Fort Knox Chapter and recognition to MOWW.”

The Fort Knox Chapter will hold its next meeting Nov. 13 at its clubhouse in Building 2377 on Fort Knox. For information,  call Larry Herzog, 351-6433.
