Fort Knox officials have identified Wednesday's shooting victim as Lloyd R. Gibert, 51, of Elizabethtown.

Gibert was a human resources specialist with the U.S. Army Human Resource's Command Field Artillery Branch Officer Personnel Management Directorate on Fort Knox, according to a news release. He had been assigned to that command since January 2004.

Officials also confirmed Sgt. Marquinta E. Jacobs, 36, of Radcliff as the shooting suspect. He will be charged with murder, according to federal court documents.

According to the FBI, Jacobs approached Gibert at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday in a parking lot outside the HRC building on post. After engaging in a verbal altercation, Jacobs allegedly shot Gibert with a .45-caliber handgun.
