Fort Knox soldier killed in Afghanistan

1st Lt. Demetrius M. Frison, 26, killed in Khowst Province

The Fort Knox Public Affairs Office reports a Fort Knox soldier died Tuesday of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device in Khowst Provice, Afghanistan.

First Lt. Demetrius M. Frison, 26, of Lancaster, Pa., was an infantry officer assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion, 26th Infrantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Divsion, Task Force Duke.

Frison began his military service in April 2009 and arrived at Fort Knox in October. It was his first deployment.
