A hearty dose of rain washed away Elizabethtown’s plans to celebrate its founding July 4, but organizers will try again Sunday.
Founders’ Day is scheduled for 5 p.m. Sunday at Freeman Lake Park and is free to the public. Events Coordinator Sarah Vaughn said the schedule of events Sunday closely will mimic original plans for the Fourth. However, the Shoney’s pie eating contest that proved a hit last year has been canceled, she said.
