Freakley to headline veterans summit

A former Fort Knox post commander will be addressing audiences in Louisville next week as part of a summit geared toward veteran issues.

Retired Lt. Gen. Benjamin Freakley has been named the featured speaker of the Regional Veterans Summit Wednesday at the Seelbach Hilton hotel in Louisville. The event is 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m and check-in starts at 7:30 a.m, where refreshments will be served.

Sponsored by the Kentucky Indiana Exchange in partnership with the Lincoln Trail Workforce Investment Board, the summit is designed to discuss ways in which to attract, retain and employ veterans.

“They’re the best our nation has to offer, and we want to put their tested, proven skills to work,” according to a public notice.
