The News-Enterprise VINE GROVE — The North Hardin Christian Falcons’ first 11-man KHSAA game in school history didn’t go as planned Friday night as the Falcons fell to the visiting Caverna Colonels, 42-7. Caverna (1-0) scored 21 points in the first quarter and doubled its lead by halftime. The Falcons (0-1) broke up the Colonels’ shutout bid with just 123 seconds left in the game when quarterback Tyler Davis scored on a 6-yard keeper run and Justin Wash tacked on the extra point. Justin Jones led the Falcons’ ground game with 49 yards on eight carries, while Quintin Jones had 25 yards on four rushes. Haustin Kimbrough and Tim Meenach each had one 4-yard run and Davis finished with 1 yard on three attempts. Quintin Jones caught a team-high four passes for 3 yards, while Justin Jones caught three passes for 34 yards. Michael Ford had two receptions for 32 yards and Sam Brashear had a 1-yard reception. Quintin Jones had 97 total return yards, while Ford had 57 yards on three returns. Wash led the Falcons’ defense with 4.5 tackles, while two of Quintin Jones’ four tackles went for a loss. Mark Oyola added a blocked point-after try, while Lorenzo Foushee forced two fumbles and recovered one. UP NEXT: North Hardin Christian plays at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Lynnville (Ind.) Tecumseh.
