Fun and food at Stephensburg Day

STEPHENSBURG — The annual fundraiser for the volunteer fire department here kicks off Saturday morning with a parade and continues with games, food and contests throughout the day.

The parade kicks off at 10 a.m., with registration beginning an hour before. 

Festivities chairman Jeff Thompson said the biggest draw is a car show that starts at 1 p.m.

The event began in 1978 and, sans a couple of years when it was not held, it has brought in money for the Stephensburg Fire Department. 

Vendors, booths and games will be on site all day. 

"Good food, good times and good prizes," Thompson said. 

Hot-air balloon rides will be available from 9 to 10 a.m. and Wellness on Wheels will park at the event for part of the day. A beauty contest begins at 11 a.m.

In the afternoon, cloggers will perform at 1, and live music begins at 2. Later in the day, a community auction begins at 4 and a cornhole tournament begins at 5.
