Rural water customers won’t be as likely to lose service during emergency situations.
Hardin County Water District No. 2 plans to unveil its emergency backup power system at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Glen D. Dalton White Mills Water Treatment Complex on Cave Road in White Mills.
The system is one of the backups coming to both water districts in response to service problems that occurred during the ice storm in January 2009.
A massive power outage at that time led to a widespread water outage that lasted 24 hours in some areas.
