GIRLS' PREP BASKETBALL: North Hardin cruises past Lady Bulldogs (12/06)

By GREG CREWS gcrews@thenewsenterprise.com RADCLIFF — The John Hardin Lady Bulldogs had no answer for Destiny Bramblett. The North Hardin junior forward racked up 27 points, nine rebounds and four steals and the Trojans cruised past their 17th District rival, 84-30 on Friday night in Ron Bevars Gymnasium. Sophomore point guard RaeChaun Edwards added 14 points and seven steals for North Hardin (2-0, 1-0 district), while junior guard Jennifer Smiley scored 11 points. The Trojans committed 25 turnovers, but forced the Lady Bulldogs (0-2, 0-1) into 35. John Hardin were paced by senior guard Emily Hammond and sophomore center Jordan Cofer, who each scored seven points. North Hardin opened on an 11-0 run and stretched its lead to 24-8 by the end of the first quarter — and the Trojans never took their foot off the gas. After going into halftime with a 42-18 lead, North Hardin stretched it to 67-22 by the end of the third quarter. UP NEXT: John Hardin plays Beech (Hendersonville, Tenn.) at 2 p.m. today in the Shively Sporting Goods Shoot-out at Central Hardin High School.
