GIRLS' PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Lady Trojans bounce back with victory over Eastern (01/13)

The North Hardin Lady Trojans built a double-digit lead, watched it turn into an eight-point deficit and then rallied to knock off Louisville Eastern on Saturday.

North Hardin trailed by eight with just over 3 minutes remaining, but came back to top Eastern, 54-51 in the Shoot for the Cure at Louisville Pleasure Ridge Park.

Senior forward Chanel Roberts led the Lady Trojans (15-4) with 26 points, 12 rebounds and two steals, while junior guard Domeneque Taft added 11 points and four assists.

Freshman guard Tamiah Stanford scored seven for North Hardin, which led 23-10 after the first quarter.

BULLITT EAST 64, LARUE COUNTY 45. The Lady Hawks had one of their worst shooting nights this season as the Lady Chargers rolled in the Shoot for the Cure at PRP.

LaRue County (11-4) hit just 7-of-41 shots (17 percent) from the field as its five-game winning streak ended.

Junior guard Ivy Brown led the Lady Hawks with 15 points, eight rebounds and three steals, while junior center Alley Evans had 12 points.

Senior forward Haley Holt chipped in with eight points and seven rebounds.

MEADECOUNTYSPLITS TWO GAMES. The Lady Waves (11-8) lost to Owensboro Apollo, 44-41 on Saturday and beat Muhlenberg County, 59-56 on Friday.

n Visiting Apollo outscored Meade County, 25-18 in the second half en route to its second straight win.

Junior guard Raley Johnson led the Lady Waves with 13 points, four steals, three rebounds and two assists, while sophomore forward Morgan Turner had 10 points and six rebounds.

Senior forward Maya Luney chipped in with six points and nine rebounds.

n Johnson scored 18 points and Turner had 13 points, six assists, five rebounds and two steals as the Lady Waves beat Muhlenberg County.

Luney chipped in with nine points, 15 rebounds and three blocks, while sophomore guard Addi Lynch and junior guard Katelyn Cucino scored seven each.

NORTH HARDINCHRISTIAN GOES 1-2. The Lady Falcons (6-3) beat Danville Christian, 45-28 and lost to Lexington Bluegrass Baptist, 48-44. They also beat Lexington Trinity Christian, 47-46 on Friday.

n Senior Missy Schneider had 12 points, 11 rebounds and four steals to lead North Hardin Christian past Danville Christian.

Eighth-grader Skye Brown scored 10 points, while sophomore Shontice Taylor chipped in with nine points and five assists. Junior Bree Hammond scored six.

n Schneider had 15 points and 15 rebounds, but the Lady Falcons couldn’t hold a nine-point first-quarter lead and lost to Bluegrass Baptist.

Taylor chipped in with 15 points, while Hammond scored five.

n Taylor scored 17 points and Alysia Smith chipped in with 13 points and 16 rebounds as the Lady Falcons scraped by Trinity Christian.

Schneider had nine points and 11 rebounds, while Brown added nine points, four steals and four assists.
