Sophomore Morgan Turner scored 16 points and hit three 3-pointers as the Meade County Lady Waves held off visiting 11th District rival Hancock County, 46-43 on Thursday.
Turner also had eight rebounds, while junior Raley Johnson added 15 points, three rebounds and two steals for Meade County (5-2, 3-0 district), which won its fifth straight.
Senior Maya Luney chipped in with nine points and five rebounds. Senior Beth Rates finished with 25 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Hornets (5-2, 2-1).
