GIRLS' PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Meade tops Cloverport (2/5)

Freshman guard Kelsey Sutton scored a career-high 21 points to lead the host Meade County Lady Waves to a 72-16 win over 11th District rival Cloverport Frederick Fraize on Saturday.

Sutton, who went 8-of-9 from the field and hit four 3-pointers, also had two rebounds, two steals and one assist, while sophomore guard Raley Johnson added 10 points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal.

Freshman forward Morgan Turner chipped in with nine points and five rebounds, and freshman guard Addi Lynch scored eight points.

ADAIR COUNTY 46, LARUE COUNTY 43. The visiting Lady Hawks (14-9) lost their second game in as many days.

Sophomore wing Ivy Brown paced LaRue County with 24 points, 13 rebounds, three assists and three steals, while sophomore post Alley Evans had seven points and 11 rebounds.

Junior forward Haley Holt added seven points and one assist.

BULLITT CENTRAL 54, CENTRAL HARDIN 41. The visiting Lady Bruins (8-15) struggled shooting the ball – going 11-of-49 from the field and 5-of-18 from beyond the arc – as they lost for the fifth time in six games.

Senior guard Lauren Norton paced the Lady Bruins with nine points and five steals, while senior post Alexis Johnson had eight points and six rebounds.

Senior Lacey Lundy paced North Hardin Christian with 18 rebounds and six points, while senior Shamyiah McCamish added 10 points and nine rebounds.
