Senior Chanel Roberts recorded her fourth straight double-double in leading the North Hardin Lady Trojans to a lopsided win over 17th District foe Fort Knox on Friday night.
Roberts had 19 points, 11 rebounds, four steals and three assists as the Lady Trojans routed the Lady Eagles, 73-17 at Ron Bevars Gymnasium.
Freshman Tamiah Stanford added 16 points, three assists, three steals and one rebound for North Hardin (3-1, 1-0 district), which won its third straight.
After Fort Knox (1-3, 0-2) took a 5-4 lead on sophomore Brenna Stephenson’s 3-pointer, the Lady Trojans controlled the rest of the game.
They outscored the Lady Eagles 55-4 over the second and third quarters, taking a 64-11 advantage going to the fourth period.
The running clock, which starts when a team is ahead by 35 or more points, began early in the third when North Hardin’s Kiera Jones drained a 3-pointer. The mercy rule was adopted this season by the KHSAA.
Every North Hardin player dressed got in the game, and 11 Lady Trojans scored.
Stephenson was the bright spot for Fort Knox, which lost its 21st straight game to North Hardin and 97th straight district contest. Stephenson finished with nine points, six steals and two rebounds.
