Goldenrod Homemakers have October meeting

Alice Bennett, president of the Goldenrod Homemakers Club, presents Larry Crawford with a copy of “Recipes from the Heart” for his help with the club’s White Elephant Sale.

The Goldenrod Homemakers met Oct. 11 at First Baptist Church of Eastview with 25 in attendance, including two visitors. The meeting was hosted by Sue Sydnor and Mary Martin.

Sheila Stolz reported that all copies of the recipe book “Recipes from the Heart” that the club put together have been sold. She has reordered, so more copies will be available soon.

After the business meeting, Charlotte Cooper gave a lesson on “Meditation, Breathing and Stretching Exercise for Stress Release and Flexibility.” Larry Crawford conducted the October White Elephant Sale, assisted by Lloyd Conder. Proceeds go to providing Christmas gifts and a food basket for a needy child and his or her family.

Fellowship and a potluck lunch followed with secret pal gifts exchanged.

The next meetings is Nov. 8 at the First Baptist Church of Eastview fellowship building; it will be hosted by Sheila Stolz and Laura Mae Cox. Nadine Bush will give a lesson on “The Extreme Holiday Recipe Makeover.”
