As the petition drive begins to place expanded alcohol sales in voters’ hands come summer, opposition to the drive has surfaced.
The newly formed Hardin County Christian Coalition publicly denounced the plan and is in the process of developing a strategy to counter the push. Proponents of expanded sales say loosening the law could benefit the county economically and retain revenue seeping into neighboring counties’ bars and package liquor stores.
