ELIZABETHTOWNTonight at the Plum Alley Theater, patrons will have the opportunity to step back in time to the days of radio drama with “War of the Worlds.” It has been 70 years since the original production directed by Orson Welles aired on the radio series “Mercury Theatre on the Air.” Confusion over the radio presentation adapted from H.G. Wells’ book caused original listeners to panic. Because the drama was presented without commercials and included many false news reports speckled throughout, listeners who did not tune in for the beginning disclaimer thought they were being invaded. Elizabethtown’s live rendition of the radio drama can be seen at 7 p.m. today and Friday. Tickets are $10. For more information contact (270) 234-8258.
