Harpool-McAlister Roger and Mary Harpool of Elizabethtown and Jake and Jan McAlister of Guston announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their children, Megan Harpool of Elizabethtown and Jeremy McAlister of Guston. The bride-to-be is a 2001 graduate of Central Hardin High School and a 2005 graduate of Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She received a Master of Arts degree in elementary education in 2007 from WKU. She is secretary of the Elizabethtown Junior Woman’s Club, and she has been a teacher for the Hardin County Board of Education since 2005. The prospective groom is a 2000 graduate of Meade County High School and a 2003 graduate of Elizabethtown Community College with an Associate of Science degree. He has been a firefighter at Fort Knox since 2003 and also serves as a volunteer firefighter for the Flaherty Volunteer Fire Department. The wedding is at 2 p.m. May 31, 2008, at First Christian Church, 634 N. Mulberry St., Elizabethtown, followed by a reception at the Historic State Theater.
