Hardin County Playhouse is seeking adults and children to take part in “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.”

The story, based on a book, follows the production of a church Christmas pageant with the added struggle of keeping the six members of the Herdman family in line.

Auditions are at 6:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Plum Alley Theater in the Historic State Theater complex.

Director Bo Cecil is casting the naughty Herdman kids and many others in the large cast of young performers.

Performers should be 5 years or older, Cecil said.

Many adults also will be cast in the family friendly production, he said.

Those auditioning are asked to sing a Christmas carol taught at the audition and read a selection from the script.

Rehearsals begin in early November on Monday and Friday evenings and Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Performance dates are Dec. 6-15.
