Changes going on in Hardin County Schools include the district's logo.
HCS unveiled its new logo from Heartland Communications of Elizabethtown, replacing a design that had been in place for several decades.
"We wanted something fresh, a new look,'' HCS spokesman John Wright said. "The old logo was close to 40 years old ... it served a wonderful life for us.''
Retired Hardin County Schools administrator Larry Brawner created the previous design, Wright said.
The new logo already is being used on the district website and Wright said all district materials, such as letterhead and business cards, soon will have it in place.
Wright said the district has no intention of purchasing new items, such as a sign, with the new logo.
"When it is time to replace it we will,'' he said. "We don't want to spend any extra money on it (the logo).''
The previous logo also was circular with HCS over an outline of a map of Hardin County. Wright said the district didn't want to stray too far from its previous look so many of the same traits still exist.
In addition, the district's slogan of "Helping Children Succeed'' also is part of the presentation.
