It’s hot here in August.
It’s also when the Kentucky State Fair is held, and, traditionally, Hardin County’s Heartland Festival.
People faced the dilemma of attending the festival or the fair, but often, we suspect, sought air-conditioned diversions.
So the decision to move the Heartland Festival to the first weekend in June seemed ideal.
The average high in June hovers around 82 degrees. But this is not a typical weather year. The heat seems to be following the festival.
