Elizabethtown City Council approves tax relief package

Elizabethtown City Council approved a tax incentives package Monday for suspension systems manufacturer Hendrickson USA, which plans to open a manufacturing facility in the city.

The package includes a five-year property tax abatement and a partial refund of Elizabethtown occupational license fees at 1 percent annually for 10 years. The city typically offers this industrial development incentives package to incoming industry.

Hendrickson’s Elizabethtown site, which will be on North Black Branch Road near UPS Supply Chain Solutions, will manufacture products to be used by the company’s existing operations in nearby states. The company manufactures suspension systems and components for heavy-duty vehicles and will create 75 jobs as a result of a $20 million investment here.

Hendrickson said it chose Hardin County because of its available skilled workforce, training programs and centralized location. The facility should be up and running within a year.
