Historic endowment to support Hardin County Schools

A former social worker for Hardin County Schools has left the district an endowment of $2.42 million, the largest philanthropic gift in the county's history.

The money is from the estate of Charley Nell Llewellyn, whose passing was remembered on the first anniversary of her death Friday with the announcement of the Llewellyn Scholarship Fund. The money is endowed to the Central Kentucky Community Foundation for the benefit of HCS students.
