Eighteen Elizabethtown firefighters responded Friday to a house fire on College Street Road.
The homeowner at 106 College Street Road noticed flames coming from the laundry room area, Battallion Chief Mark Malone said. Only the homeowner was in the house at the time of the fire and she made it out safely without injury, Malone said.
When the firefighters arrived, heavy smoke and flames were coming from the laundry room, he said.
It took about 20 minutes to bring the fire under control, Malone said. About 50 percent of the home was damaged, he said, and the fire did not spread to any other structures.
