Hosparus of Central Kentucky and E-town Florist offer help this weekend to residents looking for holiday decorations.
The organization and local business team up to host “A Bedazzled Christmas,” a holiday home decor show, Saturday in the Family Life Center at Grace Heartland Church.
The event features two workshops at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. They demonstrate how to use and recycle old decorations and how to use different materials, some of which may already be found at home, said Beth White, owner of E-town Florist.
White, Nancy Sullivan and Jeff Ramsey are presenters, showing attendees how to decorate doors, windows and mantles.
“We will show how to take normal items and put some zip into it,” White said. “This is not an interactive demonstration, but items will be made on site by the designers and offered for sale. We will have items and materials for sale after the event ranging in price from less than $10 to the $100s.”
Lisa Sanford, senior manager of advancement and community relations at Hosparus of Central Kentucky, said all ticket sales benefit Hosparus along with 20 percent of proceeds from items and materials.
“This is our first time holding this event as a fundraiser and we are excited about it,” Sanford said. “We want to thank E-town Florist for helping us with it and a special thanks to Grace Heartland Church for letting us have the space for the event.”
Each session lasts approximately 90 minutes and has about 30 presentations.
Cost for the event is $25. Tickets can be purchased at the door on the day of the show, at Hosparus of Central Kentucky at 105 Diecks Drive in Elizabethtown or at E-town Florist at 624 Westport Road. Patrons can pay with cash, check or credit card.
