KENTUCKYWEATHER. Not much to say. Pretty much the same. Unpredictable.

GET-WELL WISHES. Get-well wishes to Mary Goodman, Pam Chappell Graham, Mike Nall, Sierra Covin, Chris Cecil, Ernest Sadler, Jim Jarboe, Kevin Goodman, John Shope, Opal Smallwood, Cathy Morgan and Wilma Cundiff , who now is back at home after spending a few days in the hospital.

Mom has a special prayer request for her friend, Dena.

SYMPATHY. Sympathy is extended to the family of Clarence “Poodle” Cecil. He was a graduate of Howevalley High School, a member of Franklin Crossroads Baptist Church for more than 60 years and married 67 years to his childhood sweetheart, Mary Wilmoth. He is survived by his daughter, Sue Story, grandsons, Mark and Tim, several nieces and a nephew and a host of friends.

CLUB NEWS. The Howevalley Vertrees Community Club voted to change the time for the meetings back to 7 p.m. The next meeting is at 7 p.m. Feb. 25. 

Bunco is at 7 p.m. March 11 at the Howevalley Vertrees Community Club. Notice this is a time change. This will allow people to get there on time. Everyone is welcome.

A chili supper is planned for 5 p.m. March 15. Carry out will be available for those who wish to stop and take some home. More details later. 

The club is sponsoring an Easter egg hunt at 2 p.m. March 30. Weather permitting, it will be held at the community club. A Howevalley Vertrees Day committee meeting is at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 18. Anyone wanting to be on the committee or who has some great ideas to share, please attend this very important meeting.

Happy birthday wishes to Edna Goodman and Kory Helm on Feb. 20; Valarie Butler, Morgan Dalton (18 years) and Brady McDowell (12 years) on Feb. 21; Martha Brown, Ashley Puckett, Elijah McStoots (12 years) and Heavin Goodman (13 years) on Feb. 22; Gary Goodman, Michael Butler and Lynn Butler on Feb. 23; Dana Patterson, Curtis Duvall and Taylor Cobb (17 years) on Feb. 24; Jean Lucas and Forrest Cooper (17 years) on Feb. 25; Floyd Miller on Feb. 26; Tracy Evans, Brandon Goodman, Matthew McCamish, Lynne Wise Hutchins and Owen Hoskinson on Feb. 27.

ANNIVERSARIES. Happy anniversary wishes to Larry and Sheila Lucas on Feb. 22 (7 years); Bryle and Jo Jo Holbert on Feb. 23; (5 years); and Chester and Anna Marie Flowers on Feb. 28 (57 years).

SPORTS. My goodness a four-hour basketball game and five overtimes. The Louisville Cardinals just couldn’t pull it off against Notre Dame. Mom was disappointed, so like many other fans.
