HOOVER’S WIT. A story was told of a lady who had decided to learn to drive a car. She was parked along side of the curb one day. There was nothing in front of her, but a man was parked directly behind her. She was driving one of these new-fangled automatic shift cars. So she came out, got in her car, started it up, but instead of putting it in drive, she put it in reverse. Wham Bam. She hit the man behind her. They both got out. No damage done. She got back in the car, put it in gear, Wham Bam. She hit the man again. He got out of his car, walked up to her and said, “Lady, if you will just wait a minute, I’ll back my car down the street and let you out.”
