HOOVER’S WIT.Seems that an old fellow was making a fire in the fireplace one day. They had a big log, but it was too long for the fireplace. He said to his not too bright son, “Take this log out and saw it off a bit.” The boy went out and stayed and stayed. Finally he came back in, dragging the log. The old man said, “What took you so long?” The boy said, “Well, Pap, I had to saw off both ends so it’d fit in the furplace.”
