NEW YEAR. How is your new year going so far? The first few days were okay, but then the dreaded sick bug hit. There are just too many symptoms to mention, but let me tell you it is no fun. So many people have it and it usually lasts around 72 hours. If you’re lucky and haven’t had it, just remember to keep chicken broth soups, crackers and Popsicles on hand.
COMMUNITY LOSS. A few years back a lady, Eleanor Goodman, moved to the community. She had lived in Eastview with her husband, Lawrence, and raised their family there. She was a member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church and after moving to Howevalley, she attended Yates Chapel Community Church. She went home to Heaven on Jan. 4. She loved to cook, loved her children and many grandchildren and most of all God. She is survived by her children, Arnold, Hubert, Larry, Catherine, Betty, Norma and Sharon; a sister; and several grandchildren.
