   It’s so nice to be outside to enjoy the cooler weather. Hopefully the hot temperatures are behind us. If you notice, there are some trees beginning to change color in their leaves. Fall is a beautiful season.

CHURCH NEWS.  A Benefit spaghetti supper, sponsored by Summit MethodistChurch, is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sept. 29. Proceeds will be used for rebuilding of the church, which was struck by lightning more than six weeks ago. It will be held in the White Mills Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. The meal will consist of spaghetti, salad, bread, drink and dessert for donations. Gospel music will begin around 6:30 p.m. and the silent auction will end at 7:30 p.m.

SummitMethodist Churchmembers are grateful for White Mills Baptist allowing them to use the fellowship hall. Members would love for people from all communities to join them. Concern and support from others has been overwhelming and much appreciated. For information, call Pat Nelson 862-3878

Family movie night at Franklin Crossroads Baptist Church is at 6 p.m. Sept. 30. The movie “The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry” will be shown. It is the story of three 12-year-old boys who look forward to a summer of fun in 1970. Then, Dustin meets 75-year-old Jonathan Sperry and a unique friendship begins. What happens the rest of this summer is something the boys will never forget. All families are welcome to attend.
   Vertrees Baptist Church will celebrate homecoming Oct. 7. Sunday school is at 10 a.m. and the homecoming service will begin at 11 a.m. Brother John Boone will bring the message and there will be special singing. Lunch will follow the service and everyone is invited to share the meal and fellowship. A special singing service also will follow the meal. Additional revival services are at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 8, 9 and 10 with special singing each evening. Everyone is welcome to attend. For information, call Brother John Boone at 536-3204.
   CLUB NEWS. The Howevalley Vertrees Community Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 24. Discussions will be held on this year’s community festival.

RINEYVILLE PAGEANT.Rineyville Day beauty pageant signups for ages 5 to 21 are from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Rineyville Community Park. Pageants will be held on Friday evening, starting at approximately 7:30 p.m. For information, please call Linda Thomas 234-9578. Hardin County residents only.
