KENTUCKYWEATHER.It’s getting warmer. Some temperatures reached in the 90’s. We also got some more rain.

SYMPATHY. Sympathy is extended to the family of Don Wolfe, but others will know his wife Brenda (Seagraves) who works at Cecilian Bank in Cecilia. Don lost a mighty courageous battle with cancer.They worked together in keeping the Cecilian Bank Hometowners together as an active and enjoyable group.

CLUB NEWS.Anyone wanting to be on the committee or who has some great ideas to share for Howevalley-Vertrees Day, please contact Barbara McCamish, Elsie Holbert or any club member. The date is set for second weekend in September.

VBS.Summit United Methodist Church is hosting a two-day community Bible school at their new church building in Summit from 6 to 8 p.m. July 11 and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 12.Classes for ages 3-teens.Lunch will be served on Friday.Them for Bible School is “Gone Fishin.’” POC: Leanne Pence, 862-5256.

HARDIN COUNTY FAIR CELEBRATES 50 YEARS. The Hardin County Fair celebrates 50 years in the community this July. To mark this occasion, the Harind County Fair Board and Pageant Committee invites past Miss Hardin County Fair winners to be present July 8 for a special recognition during the Miss Haridn County Fair Pagant. BABY CHLOE. Chloe, myself and Jamilee Sherrard visited our adopted grandfather, John Shope, on June 25 at his home in Elizabethtown. Baby Chloe slept the whole time. He said he had been wanting to see that precious bundle of joy. We all had a nice visit.

WHITE MILLS DAYS. Amy Ragland, coordinator of the White Mills Days Beauty Pageant, invites you and your friends to participate in the beauty pageant. Numerous businesses have donated gifts to be given away to the winners of the contest. The White Mills Days Beauty Pageant is at 7 p.m. July 5. Practice is July 4 on the front porch of the White Mills Christian Camp for all contestants participating in the beauty pageant. Preregistration continues through 6:30 p.m. July 5. The canoe races will be held on July 5.Registrationis $12 and begins at 5:30 p.m. near the dam. Races begin at 6:30.There will be races for Powder Puff (women only), youth (under 14) and open class.Kayaks are welcome but will not be included in the race.Also noracing canoes.POC: Forrest or Pat Nelson,862-3878. If you wish to unload your canoe close to the dam, you must be there before 6 p.m.
