Howevalley News

-A A +A

April 7, 2013

The weather warmed up for the Easter weekend but it did rain Easter Sunday. There's an old saying, that if it rains on Easter Sunday it will rain seven Sundays in a row. We'll just have to wait and see.

EASTER SUNRISE.  Easter Sunrise Service was held at Vertrees Baptist Church last Sunday.

FAMILY LOSS. Sympathy is extended to the family of Lois Yates Goodman of Eastview. She is survived by her son, Ricky Dale Goodman of Eastview; two sisters, Etta Hicks of Eastview and Jeanetta Chappell of Howevalley; and many nieces and nephews. She was a member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church. Her parents were Curt and Glennie Yates, she was the wife of Reedie Goodman, twin sister of Doris Lucas and sister to Robert Darryl, Clarence, Marion (Mug), Durham and Homer Yates.

BASKETBALL. Mom was so excited about her team, The Louisville Cardinals beating Duke last Sunday and seeing them advance to the Final Four in Atlanta. It was sad to see Kevin Ware get hurt in the game. They said he broke his leg in two places. His teammates were so emotional over him being hurt and so was Coach Pitino. That team has a special bond between them.

GET-WELL WISHES. Get well wishes to Ava (great-granddaughter of Wilma Jean Cundiff), Mae Fern Ford, Thelma Dunn, Mary Goodman, Mike Nall, Sierra Covin, Chris Cecil, Ernest Sadler, Kevin Goodman, John Shope, Opal Smallwood, Wilma Jean Cundiff and Cathy Morgan.

PRAYERS. Mom has a special prayer request for her friend, Dena.
