James Delbert Parrett, 72, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at his residence.
He was a native of Dayton, Ohio, member of Gilead Baptist Church and retired as district manager for Hardin County Water District No. 2. He was an avid antique car nut and NASCAR Fan and he treasured his entire family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Alice Burba Parrett; his parents, Oscar and Goldia Edlin Parrett; and a brother, Denver Leo Parrett.
He is survived by one son, Jimmy (Suzanne) Parrett of Rineyville; three daughters, Sandy (Gary) Smith of Cecilia, Kim (David) Pepper of Hodgenville and Sherry Parrett Miller of Elizabethtown; three sisters, Dorothy (Walter) Turner and Doris Jean Martin, both of Elizabethtown, and Diane Parrett of Louisville; seven grandchildren, Derrick (Christina) and Jason (Jamie) Smith, Branden, Curtis, Sydney and Emma Grace Pepper and Lindsey Parrett; one great-grandchild, Cayden Smith; and one great-grandson on the way.
The funeral was Saturday at Gilead Baptist Church with Brothers Mike Bell and Sam Hinkson officiating. Burial was in Gilead Cemetery.
Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown handled arrangements.
