James Douglas Sexton

James Douglas Sexton, 58, of Elizabethtown died Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

He was a native of Hardin County and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was the truss shop manager for Kentucky-Indiana Lumber Company in Shelbyville. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 113, Campbellsville Country Club and the K Club at the University of Kentucky. He was also a member of the 1969 state football championship team and the 1970 state baseball championship team from Elizabethtown High School. 

He was preceded in death by his father, James Franklin Sexton.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Ellen Sexton; his mother, Jeanne Sexton of Elizabethtown; one son, Nathan Sexton of Louisville; daughter, Sara Sexton of Elizabethtown; two sisters, Debbie Spillers of Marietta, Ga., and Angie (Michael) Dubree of Hardinsburg; three nephews, Zachary Spillers, Max Dubree and Chris Barkett; and one niece, Staci Spillers.

The funeral was Friday, Feb. 24, at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Chuck Walker officiating. Burial was in St. James Cemetery.
