Don’t feed the addiction

Addiction usually is initiated when something occurs that causes the “addicted” to feel good. This “feeling good” becomes a self-fulfilling desire to repeat the process. This occurs even if the “feel good” turns out to be destructive or very counter-productive.

Our federal government is addicted to doing things that make politicians “feel good” as a unit. They do this without addressing the full ramifications; therefore we have an unsustainable debt.

Giving the federal government more tax money is like giving a dope addict heroin to help him heal himself.

Selective outrage

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents were rounded up and exterminated.

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated. Who knew Hitler had a “gun buyback” program?

 China established gun control in 1935 and in the years following murdered 20 million of its own citizens.

That comes to about 50 million people exterminated from this earth because of gun control.

Liberals want to make a point. Fine. Muslim terrorists murdered 3,000 Americans when they flew two planes into the World Trade Centers. No cries from the left to ban planes or Muslims.

Two thousand children are murdered every day in abortion clinics in this country. No cries from the left, just the unborn.

Five hundred thousand die every year because of cigarettes. No ban on a legal product. Thirty-thousand to 45,000 die every year in auto accidents. No outbursts from the progressives.

Half of the gun incidents in this country are by individuals who commit suicide. Ban suicide.

Black men make up 12 percent of the population and commit 50 percent of the murders, according to published reports. Left not interested in banning black men.

Homeland Security considers veterans “terrorists.” Ban veterans.

Let’s ban the left.
